Catch AI Hallucinations in 60 Seconds: Make It Show Receipts

Milo learns that AI sounds equally confident when it's right and when it's wrong, so Professor Glitch shows him how to check its claims in under a minute. List the claims, ask which ones are shaky, and search for those yourself. #AITips #FactCheck #AIHallucinations #PromptEngineering #LearnAI #ChatGPT

Step 1, paste this right after any AI answer you plan to use:

"List every factual claim in your last answer as numbered items: names, dates, numbers, quotes, cause-and-effect statements. Then name the three claims you're least certain about and explain why for each one (for example, you might be mixing up sources, the information might be out of date, or you might be recalling it from memory instead of a specific source). For each claim, suggest a search query I could use to check it, and the kind of original source that would confirm it (official site, original study, primary document)."

Step 2, check these yourself with a search engine:
- The three claims it flagged as least certain
- Any claim you'll actually rely on for [your essay / report / decision about TOPIC]

Step 3, for each claim, find one original source that states it directly. If the AI gave you a link or citation, open it and confirm the page says the claim itself, not just something about the same topic.

Step 4, keep it, fix it, or cut it. If you fixed anything, paste it back and say: "These claims were wrong or unverified: [list]. Rewrite your answer without them."
